Advanced Allergy Therapeutics: An unproven therapy
Advanced Allergy Therapeutics
AAT, acronym for Advanced Allergy Therapeutics, touts a "breakthrough technology that eliminates the reaction from MOST forms of allergies and sensitivities". It is based on traditional acupunctures principles using "digital signals". AAT is offered in the US by many family physicians, acupuncturists, PA's, and nurses throughout the US.
Unfortunately many patients pursue AAT because it offers treatment of allergies without needles and drugs. It is also advertised to treat acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, bloating, asthma, wheezing, skin conditions, eczema, hives, and other conditions.
The facts are: 1) AAT is not based on scientific and clinical data scrutinized by recognized medical organizations such as the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology or the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology 2) AAT is NOT offered by physicians board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology 3) Acupuncture or any derivations of it has no place in treating allergic rhinitis [hayfever and nasal allergies], asthma, or eczema
