South Texas Allergens

Understanding Allergies in San Antonio & South Texas

San Antonio and South Texas sit at a unique transition zone between the eastern and western United States. This region is home to a diverse mix of plant life—featuring species from the humid Southeast, like the Virginia live oak, alongside arid-adapted plants from the West, such as mesquite trees.

Due to our southern location, the growing seasons here differ from those in northern states. In fact, some plants release pollen year-round, and mold spores remain active throughout all seasons. Unlike colder regions where winter freezes can temporarily reduce allergens, South Texas rarely experiences prolonged cold periods strong enough to eliminate mold.

For those with allergies, this combination of a year-round pollen cycle makes understanding and managing symptoms especially important. We are here to help you navigate the challenges of living with environmental allergies.
